So, you want to get your ex boyfriend back?
I know how you feel. I lost my boyfriend 8 days before our wedding.
I remember how humiliated and rejected I felt. I remember the feelings of desperation, hopelessness and loneliness. The pain was so intense that I couldn't find the courage to get out of bed in the morning and go to work.
My first instinct was to beg him to come back, cry, threaten him with suicide, do anything to stop the pain. But, deep down I knew that this behavior would only cause his contempt and disgust, so I tried really hard not to do any of these things.
What I really wanted to do was to get away from anything that reminded me of him. So, I decided to take a trip for about 2 weeks. The first few days the only thing I could do was to cry, but after a while I started feeling much better. Maybe life doesn't end after a breakup. Feeling refreshed and optimistic about the future, I returned home. And who did I find at the doorstep? Him!
His eyes were red and he looked like he hadn't slept in days.
He had tried to reach me for several days to tell me that he had regretted his decision to leave, but I was nowhere to be found. This made him feel like he had lost me forever.
He started to imagine how his life was going to be without me and he didn't like the picture. The problem was that I was already over him and I couldn't bring myself to forgive his decision to leave me, just days before our wedding! I couldn't trust him anymore, I couldn't be certain that he wouldn't do it again.
However, I realized that the way I handled the breakup could be turned into a system. If I had begged him to come back, I would have just pushed him away. The fact that I was completely unavailable, made me look much more desirable in his eyes. You see, men usually like a challenge. During the relationship I was a sure thing, just someone he took for granted. After the breakup I was unattainable, someone he wanted desperately, but couldn't have.
Your ex probably still has feelings about you, he just doesn't realize it. In fact, according to a recent survey 90% of people who break up with their partner still have powerful feelings towards their significant other. The only thing you have to do is to help him realize these feelings. Disappear for a while and make him understand that maybe life without you is not going to be as pleasant as he thought.
